Player's Prior Legal Issues
Rice missed the initial part of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals injured. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
