The British heavyweight doubled down on his much-discussed comments about wanting to “kill” Jake Paul during a news conference in Miami on midweek.

The remarks were originally stated on the previous day when the boxer was asked if he would hold back against the social media star, replying that “if I can kill you, I'll kill”.

The upcoming contest against the internet personality turned fighter has sparked criticism over the risk involved and the size difference between the two athletes.

Fury Labels AJ a “Classless Loser”

Ex- titleholder The Gypsy King branded Joshua a “classless loser” for his extreme rhetoric.

But Joshua, explained his mindset: “This is my profession, we fight. We have a license that permits extreme violence.

“I'm sure many people don't grasp it but this is what my job is. I take pleasure in what I do. Whatever happens, happens - as long as my hand is held high, that's what's important, respectfully.”

He stated, “That's just the mindset we have to have as warriors. I don't know if other boxers think that way. Maybe they're a bit more tame. The way my mind works. When you're in the squared circle, it's a risky thing. Anything can happen.”

“You wish your adversary exits the ring unharmed, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed aware you just did your job. It was not personal.”

Jake Paul's Fiery Response

Jake Paul, a huge outsider in the heavyweight contest as a natural lighter fighter, was equally incendiary in his response.

“This is a modern day combat sport,” Paul stated. “I'm ready. I want his strongest punches. I want there to be zero excuses when it's all over. Let's kill each other.”
