Administration Condemns 'Democratic Hoax' as Further Jeffrey Epstein Photographs Made Public
Democratic lawmakers have released a fresh batch of what they described as "disturbing" pictures from the estate of adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and ex-UK prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The initial drop of 19 images—a portion of which have been seen before—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday account for a small number of the almost 100,000 images handed over to the House oversight committee, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The disgraced financier died by apparent suicide in a New York prison cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking crimes.
Prominent Personalities in the Photos
Included in the high-profile individuals seen in the first release are well-known figures including movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft creator Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin conglomerate.
Donald Trump is pictured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is seen with six women, whose faces are redacted.
White House Statement
The White House responded to the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of purposefully "cherry-picking" the images for electoral motives and to "attempt to fabricate a false narrative."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson said, maintaining that "this presidency has accomplished more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats ever have by frequently urging openness, releasing thousands of pages of papers, and urging additional probes into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Democratic Lawmaker Remarks
The photos were released devoid of explanation, but according to a California Democrat and ranking member of the oversight committee, they raise more questions about Epstein's connections to affluent people.
"Now is the occasion to halt this White House cover-up and secure justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends," he said in a release.
The release of these documents comes as the oversight committee continuing its inquiry into the affair.
